open boat ramp around Buffalo, NY
I am hoping some of the people around Buffalo might be able to point me in the direction of a boat ramp that is still open. I have just purchased a boat and will need to float off from a trailer and on to my trailer. it is only 27 ft, so doesn't have to be anything fancy.
I'm hoping to do this this thursday while the weather is still somewhat cooperating. Preferably i'd like to be in Lake Erie side for closeness to bridge etc. If at all possible i would also like to take it for a quick sea trial before placing it on my trailer.
Any suggestions, -- i don't wan5t to drive all over to find chains across ramps -- which happens at this time of year in areas.
Thanks in advance. Dave

I would stay away from Lake Erie this time of year, especially if you are looking to sea trial the boat... it can get pretty rough out there! I would head to Isle View Park in Tonawanda, N.Y., which is only about a 15 minute drive from the City of Buffalo and the Peace Bridge. The ramp is on the Niagara River, which is a little more boater-friendly this time of year, and it's open all year round. Here is a link to the Park...

Thanks guys, trying to set it up for tomorrow.
This is perfect as i'm actually somewhat famaliar with the area. And this is a direct shot to the Lewiston Bridge.
Where does the Buffalo poker run go? I'm guessing in Erie?

Bring some waders. If it is anything like this area of CNY the water level will be very low. I did this a few years ago and found myself backing the trailer way in past the steep angle of the ramp, the back tires of the truck were in the water. I had to get wet, and it felt as if someone was stabbing my ankles with knives
Good luck

Waders? that will suck...
i would think that the level is fairly static in this area given the proximity to the falls?
CNY -- is that Central New York State?
