Default 30 feet Phantom

Hi,

Do anyone know what estimated speed is with a single 350 outboard? Its a light and efficent hull, so maybe 75 mph?

It wasn't designed for a single app. Wil said the 350 won't really ride right because of its height. I am sure it could be done but it's a 30ft boat and no matter how light it is I don't think a heavy verado will get it to 75. Now a couple of 300xs would be the ticket.

Two of these would work nicely. Would be interesting to see how it would run.

Hi,

These are heavy stuff

The 350 sci is 4 inches higher than a 300xs. The transom of the Phantom 30 is 30 inches as far as I can see. So it should be possible to cut it down to 25 without problems and use a 20 midsection. And then mount it on a hydraulic jackplate for adjustability. My 350 sci is stronger by far margin than a Promax 300 (with SVS and CDI ecu) I had some years ago.

The downside with the 300xs in Norway is their limited warranty. The dealers really do not want to sell them. Thats a pity. Amazing engines.

I like the 350 and I get about service it's jut their wieght that would turn me off. The 300 is just more compact. As far as everything else yes that would be an awesome set up. Watching this boat come together was cool. It's everything you want in a real sport boat.
As far as the seven motors I think it's te same issue just way too heavy. They are a couple hundre pounds more than a verado.

I think Wil checked on the 350 and I thought he said you can't run or get those short midaections. I am probably wrong but I remember talking about it.

Default 30 Phantom

Hi,

I have a 350 sci with 20 inch midsection with solid mounts and 5,44 dia Poseidon lowers. And I have it on a UK 25 feet Phantom. Its the best package I have had. I have done everything from Johnson 3.6 GT, Promax 300 SVS, twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS (280 each with Brucato PCU) and now 350 sci. So I am very positivly suprised.

The only perfrmance downside is the HD Poseidon lower unit. It steal speed. But you can replace it with a 4,77 diameter Vrod 300 lower unit if you want approx 3 mph higher speed. But you loose longvity.
