OSO'r has new baby!
Congratulations to Budman, fellow OSO’r (Tom and Alana)! He and his wife have a new baby girl deckhand as of Friday night. Let’s all have a cold one for them this weekend. Any tips for Tom on boating with a baby? Advice on fans, car seats, supplier for infant lifejackets, ways to keep a baby cool etc. would be of use to them.
When we first boated with baby I found my gas bill to go up. The baby would sleep well while underway and fuss a little when moored. Twelve years later and they are on their own boat now.

Congrats on your baby girl. My little girl loves the boat and falls asleep too the sounds of the open headers under way. There is nothing like daddys little girl.

Thanks!!
Tim,
Thanks for the post on my behalf! I just now noticed it - obviously, I was a little busy the last couple of weeks, and I had to go a whole weekend without checking the board!
Thanks also to all the fellow OSO'ers for the congrats. Can't wait to get her out on the boat. I intend to raise her the right way!
BTW - to any fellow boaters with infants on board, does anyone make a PFD that will fit a baby under ten pounds? I intend to keep her up in the cabin in her carseat while under way. Any other tips that you can offer?

Congratulations on the baby girl!!
I did an exhaustive search last year for my baby girl and did not find anything for under 20lbs and had to go with the Infant Vest (20 to 30lbs). It was actually a good snug fit and worked out well but my daughter was 8 months when we first took on the boat (she was born in the fall).
My daughter loves the boat and like her mother, falls asleep from the sound of the engine and movement.
