Formula 400ss stored in salt water
Other than the obvious what specific issues to be concerned with. Boat is a 496 ho left in water from May thru September in New York. Bottom painted and drives painted. Dry stored and wrapped balance of the time. 200 hours on boat regular maintenence.
|
If it has Bravo III drives watch out; there were serious corrosion issues on some versions of those drives. Make sure that the zincs weren't painted over! If it has drive zinc updates or Volvo drives, you should be fine. Formula uses good hardware in their boats, so ther rest of it should be fine. What year is the boat, and do you have a link to the listing?

2006 Bravo III Zincs not painted, replaced every season

With more than a few of these available, why not look for a fresh water boat? Salt water boats that sit in the salt for months at a time seem to age prematurely.

I agree, belongs to my neighbor in Vail who lives in NY priced right but I am sure wont be perfect just wondering what specific areas to look at Always had freshwater boats

I have an 2005 400ss for sale. Has 525,s and under 10 hours. This boat has never been used. The motors are re winterized and summerized every year. Shrink wrapped every winter. Let me know. well below book price

Also check with Spicy here on the board, his 40SS is beautiful.

Know where a real clean fresh water 400ss with diesels is. Priced right for a LOTO dock friend.
|
Fresh water it is!

I would have to hire a full time detailer to keep it as clean as you do Awesome boat but I have a 20k lift and yours is probably out of my pay grade
