Anyone out there from Ft. Meyers?

It looks like I'm going to be moving my boat to Ft. Meyers (permantly) near the end of summer. Can anyone give me a run down on the boating in the area? My boat is a 1989, 24' Mach1. I'll be leaving it in Ft. Meyers year round with occasional use by myself and my family.

Cool places to go/things to do?
Marina/Storage?

Any info will be appreciated.

Mike

Hey Olysan,
First thing you gotta do is spell it right Ft. Myers. I too moved here after living all of my life in STL. I grew up boating on the Mississippi and LOTO. I moved here three years ago. The boating here is fantastic (except for that salt). Many places to go, bars, restaurants, beaches, islands... Even if the gulf is whipped up you can still boat on the river and or Pine Island sound. Feel free to call me anytime at Nor-Tech and I can give you tips on the good spots to go. 239-772-5507.

I just moved down here last Oct and kept my 27' Warlock in an guarded inside storage area till I bought this house. Its right on San Carlos Ave with easy acess and just a couple of miles from the Punta Rassa launch ramp. If your interested give me a call. It was $125 a month. Your boat should fit ok, they also have cheaper outside storage.

You will love the boating there! Page @ Deep lagoon can help you with anything you will ever need, contact Chris or John there, they are the best. Dean and the Bravo shop are in town if you ever need a drive, and stay away from anyone with the initials MM and you will be just fine!

I almost forgot, If you feel the need to go over 150 mph in one of the worlds best built boats, you will be right there in town to watch them build it. (see Terry above)

Spelling never was my strong suit, thanks for the lesson Terry.

Dan, thanks for the storage info, but I'm going to need to find a marina, that also has some outside storage. I won't be living in Ft. Myers, so I need someplace that can store, launch, and maintain the boat. Any suggestions?

Reindl, Is "Deep lagoon" a marina, do you have a number or web address for them?

Pete B, A month from now I might take you up on that, but there's no way I can have it ready by next week. I've got the engine out for some mods, and Bruce is rebuilding my drive. Thanks anyway.
