This presents quite a conundrum!:lolhit:

Im gonna give the punch and hammer trick a shot tonight. I hadn't thought of that.. Everytime I think I've replaced everything that had saltwater damage, I find something else. And its always one tiny little screw or something thats killing the entire day of work.

Thanks Steve, ordered a couple of sets of Imco hex head drain and vent plugs. $8.21 ea not bad, no more stripped screws:)

You left out a little information.

61 cents for washers. Plus tax. Plus $15.08 for S & H.

So 2 screws and washers mailed to me is $32.72. What a f*cking joke.

Use the right screwdriver in the first place :) :)

I use a hand impact to break them loose BTW, then hand tighten with a wide blade when done...

Scott B. I agree. Never had a problem.

I use a proper screw driver, merc drain screw is poor quality,I check my gear lube Every time before I use my Skater and I change the fluid every 5hrs.The 3.0L grarcases have had issues with water. I had STR fix the problem, however I would rather spend an extra 2mins verses extra $ $4,500 for New geracase, been there Done that:)
