Believe it or not I work with a guy that has some kind of 26' westcoast boat, his son is a helicopter mechanic and they plan on putting a turbine in it. They bought a surplus engine and have been working on figuring out a way to do it.

Bill Hollister use to be the crew chief for the Wellness Plan unlimited (turbine) hydroplane. He had a snowmobile top speed record, and he used a GM 2.5L 4 cyl motor to do it. Someone came along and beat him using 6 fashioned together powerheads from outboard motors. Last I talked to him he was trying to figure out how to put a small turbine on a sled...

I'm not sure but I think he used the jet drive so as to not have to buy a much more expensive shaft drive.

This project shows poor hull design and limitations of the jet drive that a 24' V bottom that weighs maybe 3000lbs or less can only run 90 with 2200hp. With a prop he could probly run over 110(but who would want to run that fast in a 24' Baja lol). Hell he's probly run out of bottom already...
