My suggestion is to bump up to 30-32'.. there are some great deals out there on boats in that size range and will handle a LOT more water than something 29 and under.

Bottom line, length and weight will get you the best ride. Length to stretch across one wave to the next and weight to bust through what you don't get over.

31 sonic, 32 Active thunder, 29-31 Formula just to name a few... go as big as you can afford! You won't regret it! Good luck!

Take in mind tow vehicle as well. You start getting up above 30ft and more and you better have a diesel.

Sorry the way I was trying to explain it came out wrong. Brain was faster than fingers(: the warlock has a soft landing for a boat with a pad. Far faster speeds because of pad and on a warlock it has an angle v to it. A true deep v will go in smoother but will be slower. Thanks for correcting me.

I just like messing with rlj676 :daz::lolhit:

I think you have that turned upside down there buddy. The pad often have less deadrise than the rest of the bottom. A "big" pad can actually create a hard landing hull.:thankyouthankyou:

See post above. :party-smiley-004:

Yes, that is my next issue...can't tow anything heavier that 8500 lbs.

I'm currently looking at a 2006 Sonic Prowler 26', but it only has a single 496 HO...would like more speed...do like the cabin

Your choice above 86 mph, 114 mph, or 97mph. Not a bad choice, depends on how well your wallet is filled. I like the 2010 Activator with the 740 hp motor, Imco Extreme drive, for $74,900. Nice almost new boat that will run 97 mph, very nice.

+1
In addition, my friend has a 2009 Activator 30 with a MRD 557ci 900hp engine for sale. It only has 20hrs on the engine. PM me for details.
Thanks

29 Warlock 500HP. Fast and handles the rough. A 1/2 ton will tow it no problem. 4x4 would be a must for steep ramps.

Yeah well My fountain with twins is 7k dry with with about a 2k trailer. And fountains are on the lighter end in comparative to other brands. Yeah you go one engine and you drop 500lbs. But I would think you would have to stick to single engine 27ft or under. a 27ft fever is still a nice boat. I am biased and there are other boats out there that are just as nice and maybe better. But overall fountain is going to give the most goodies compared to a baja or checkmate. A lot more of the premium parts come standard on them vs other brands. If you live upstate be prepared to travel, not a whole lot up here for sale. Try lake george

I did see plenty of 30-33ft performance boats being towed with older tahoes and such this summer, had my scratching my head. Another thing is check the trailer if its aluminum or you get aluminum I would think the weight savings on a trailer the size your looking for could be 1000lbs.
