I to was wondering about the steering.
And yeah with him at the throttles anyone could prob steer:p You are in edgewater? And his well, sorta new(you know the story on the old one in edgewater) shop is right up in Arnold right? What marina are you at, I work for GNC part time and am sometimes at the Edgewater location. |
Sometimes Rudders are dropped out for shipping I have seen that a lot overseas
Best Regards:) |
The drives you see are called Tri-max and were designed in europe, they are based on an Arneson they trim but do not steer usually a single rudder is used

I am at Turkey Point marina on South River. It's owned by Todd Harper (Team Extreme, Extreme M'Ocean) . So we have a lot of pretty cool iron in and out of there:) I've ridden with Art once and chased him a few times, but I'd be happy to strap into that Cat for a ride:cool:
Steve-I figured there might be some rudders somewhere but couldn't see them on my "fly-by" God knows that is the last time I will ever pass that bad boy:D |
Last year I saw one of those boats go through Milwaukee. Even though I was headed in the oposite direction, the boat really stood out! I jumped on the board trying to describe the swooping rear deck, and people imediatly knew what it was! I never found out who's boat it was though, as it was only raw glass. Not a drop of paint was on it.

The Drives are the Arneson/BPM Drives that have been fixed (made non steerable) and use a center rudder in the tunnel to steer the boat.
The drives are still trimable up and down by the use of a trim cylinder that is mounted at the rearward part of the drives. They made a bussel to mount the trim cylinder to as well as have a place to mount the rudder. Take a look at the pictures of "Running Wild" or is it "Running Brave" in the smoke on the water poker run thread. They have the exact same setup. |
