Default Checkmate to Release 26-footer by End of the Month

Latest update, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...the-month.html.

Have a great and safe weekend on the water. Sounds crazy to say on March 9, but this "winter" weather isn't too bad.

I think this is a smart move, I seriously am cheering for Checkmate's success with the new 26.

Did they design the hull or is it an older mold like the 43?
Would be a shame not to be able to at least put a 565 in it from the factory.

The only relation to Baja is that Doug Smith, who started Baja in the 70's and sold it to Brunswick in the 90's, now owns Checkmate. He has known Bill Combs who started Checkmate in the 60's. Bill Combs is now in his 80's and wanted to retire. Doug was tired of retirement and bought Checkmate in 2007. All the old employees are still there including the Combs brothers. He has definitely started using alot better rigging on the boats and brought a few new models to the line. It's a totally new boat, not modeled after anything before.
