I am so sad. When I raced, every race morning Marc would call me one hour before the start of the race, tell us to be careful and that he loved us and to make sure we called after to let him know we were ok. When I had the by-passes he called almost everyday. We have stayed in touch over the years and I only talked to him about a month ago. I am going to miss him, Monica and the boys dearly and all his wild, crazy adventures. A True Friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you always Marc and your family, God Bless.

Our best to Monica and the boys. If there was ever a way for Mark to go out, I am not surprised.
Mark, you crazy SOB, we will all miss you.
I have to share one moment that I still laugh about till this day.
Must have been about eight years ago. He was running a big Cat in Key West.
I saw him head out to turn one like a bat out of hell. Never saw him come back.
Couple of days later I ran into him on Duval street. I asked what happened.
"A small electrical problem, connecting rod came out and knocked the plug wire off."
Every time I would think about Mark, a big smile comes to my face. Just one of those guys.
Love you bro. Smitty

I have been sitting here trying to put it into words. I can't really. Sad Sad Sad.
The one thing I know is that Marc was a HUGE proponent of me getting into racing. He took me through all the classes and the pros and cons. When I wanted to buy a raceboat he begged me to wait until I picked the EXACT class I wanted to be in.
When Allen Christie called Marc to drive the SS boat when Damon got sick, Marc put aside his desire and got me the wheel job. Allen and I won that race and Marc was first to the dock to congratulate us. It was amazing.
Last I saw him was when I helped load the truck taking him to Charlotte. We spoke a few times but I was unaware he had moved back close by. Wish I would've had a last visit.
RIP my friend.
