Default Classic Mercury! My how times have changed.

Anyone miss the old days when you could get away with pulling an elephant on water skies thru canals in Florida?

Mercury Marine:
1965, Mercury matched speed with strength, pulling an elephant on specially designed water skis with a single 90hp outboard.

Must be a heck of a prop

I remember my dad paying about $700 for a 100 HP Mercury to put on our 17' Glastron. Beautiful, shiny and black. Had to be circa 1965 or so.

That is really cool. Thanks for posting. After skiing the elephant was so hungry he ate a manatee. At least thats what I heard. That was before it was illegal for elephants to eat manatees.
