You could get a pair of Drew Marine Shotgun mufflers. The flaps are spring activated and stay closed when the engine is not running.
At Idle, they are nearly closed and will prevent 90% of water intrusion.

Is this a stock exhaust setup? How long have you owned the boat? Can you post a pic of your motor/exhaust? I rarely hear about this being an issue with most boats and never with a Wellcraft (if everything is stock)...

The water meets the exhaust right after that first hose clamp......see what I mean? They don't allow hardly any room for exhaust reversion.

As you see everything is stock, got the boat with no engines, just installed these and after 10 hs valves got stuck , 1 first ,then the other engine , my mechanic will change both engines but wants me to divert thru prop only to have an appropiate angle to avoid this problem but, how is everyone else doing with this set up,dont get it.

Would a pair of Donkey D*cks work, you wouldn't have much exhaust noise, but better than paying for a new engine.

Would this avoid water from getting into the engine ? I like the idea because the boat would be silent at low speed but on plane i am sure those would come out of the water .

Any opinions on this? please!!

If i dont find a permanent solution in the next couple of days i will be forced to go thru the props , please help.

I wonder if these could be reliable?
