I wonder if this will still be legal after the 2013 emission laws take effect?

Superboat will, or would two years ago at least.

Anything is possible.

But it often turns into a never-ending finger-pointing event with he said/you said blah blah blah would be included, I thought that was in the price, etc etc. If you ship custom power to a manufacturer, then there are problems with non-standard parts, fitment, this/that got bent in shipment, who is responsible etc. etc.

The BEST thing to do is order it with basic power and sell off the parts you don't want. I.e., order it with standard low HP engine/drive, but upgrade the transom assembly, steering, tabs, etc. etc. Then the builder can deliver a package that he knows works, and works right.

Then sell the engine and drive as new, documented take outs--with warranty.

A friend bought his 26 Eliminator this way years ago with a 350Mag/Bravo, and installed a 1300HP nitrous blower tall-deck and monster Bravo derivative.

Why buy new? Let someone else eat the depreciation. Find the hull you like, a couple of years old, then as someone stated, if it has power, pull it and sell it. Or put the stock power to the side and put it back in the boat when your ready to sell. I run outboards and have 4 powerheads. Always good to have a backup.
