With 5 rather healthy guys in the boat, 50+ bud lights and ice, anchors, ice chest, 90deg F outside, the boat still went 96mph and was climbing. This is a very fast V-bottom and its handling is unlike any boat I've ever been in. I can't say I've been in all of the similar boats, but from the ones that I have, this is simply night and day. One can say all they want about it, but you have to ride in it to truly appreciate it the performance of this boat.
Mercury Racing "engineers?" That's putting it lightly. If I'm not mistake, Erik Christiansen, the engineering director for Mercury Racing, was on board. during the ride you detailed.

I had questioned the Weird 3 step bottom (bottom is so different then any other outlerlimits) in another thread but it obviously works!

I also have said this boat is very small IMO, does not look like a wave crusher. But again, obviously that helps make it fast!

Super happy for Outerlimits. Glad to see more and more sweet boats in the market.

We do have to wonder though if Whipple played the game "just the tip" while spooning Outerlimits in bed!

Its all good, no hard feelings. Not surprised that its the fastest, just surprised how much faster it is then anyone else.

Can anyone post some numbers of other 28-30ft singles?
29 warlock F1- 500 efi. 80-83 mph running light.

Question

Congrats !

Now that the numbers are out of the way ......

Will we see a 29 OL try to compete up against this ?

Sharky, are you comparing a stripped out race boat with a lid to an open full cabin /production pleasure boat???

All things being equal (same options and amenities), I can't see how the OL wouldn't be faster. In fact, I'm yet to see a standard production 29 Fountain run anywhere near the numbers these 29 OL's are running with similar power.

You have to see this boat up close to really appreciate it. It also will help those that may question its performance on 600HP understand why this boat is the little hot rod that it is. I may be silly and way off base, but after seeing the boat in person I believe aero plays a big part in its ability to run the numbers it does along with the hull design.
