Can you start your engine in your driveway with out water hooked up , and if so how long can you let it run before damage occurs?

If you disconnect the sea water pump belt it will be fine to run it for a minute or so. I've done this when working inside just to test quickly. Remember with no water it will get hot fairly quickly, and your temp gauge will not function so keep run time short.

The raw water pup impeller and plastic housing will be damaged without a water supply. Appx. $95-$110 replacement parts cost and 2 hours work replacing.
