Back in 04 or so i was doing the Mentor OH race and was standing in the lot looking out over the typically deceptive lake with a couple other racers and Augie Pensa asked me "so . . does this litle pond ever kick up 'er what". After the race i remember running into him and and he put his hand on my shoulder looked me in the eye and said " what the FUK was that!?!? . . . that was F'in sick. . . . you cant read that sh!t" lol . . . i said welcome to lake Erie.

Well Lake Erie bit me in the a$$ again..... The ride across this morning (to Cedar Point) was pretty smooth. Things looked fine when we left the dock this evening at around 8:30. However she got nasty fast. Had to pull into PIB for the night. Just wasn't about to try and fight the lake in the dark with my 10 year old daughter and my buddies 8year old daughter in the boat. So we pulled into c-dock and got a room at the commodore hotel for the night. Will try again bright and early in the morning.......

good call though, best to keep the kids safe. Looks like 10-15 NE winds and 1-3's tomorrow. Could be bumpy but ya got the day to deal with it. Good luck and be safe.

Yep, make everybody put on the rain gear, "but the sun is shining" and bury the tabs. Appreciate the run and enjoy the time with the young folks. You are shaping their future!

Intersting....
Ran 60 from there to Kellies for breakfast w/zero issues. Flat as a table top.
Other lesson is having some flex time just in case....., better to miss a day or two of work than end up on the front page of the paper.
Good luck and be careful.

The old girl was ROLLING last weekend.....plan was to get to PIB but decided to stay on the trailer.
I always thought we put more hours on in the summer that you Florida boaters do all year....it's just hard to be up north and see all the pictures of the sunshine in January! Sunshine tax is too much for me or I would be in Florida with ya Gary!!

That was one of the tricks it took me 20 yrs to learn. After being weathered in for 2 days @ Leamington I realized that it was dead calm for the first couple hrs in the morning. We prepped the 2nd night there and headed south at day brake of 3rd day.
