Seawater Pump
 

I need a new saewater pump. Where is the best place to get one. The marina wants $385. What can I get it for off OSO members? 1992 502
Has anyone rebuilt the front bearings and seals. Mine is leaking green grease and is shaking slightly. I also hear a slight whine like a ball bearing going out. OF COURSE MY WIFE CAN'T HEAR IT.

Steve, call around. Try Craig at Offshore upgrades, he may have one in his shop. Or ask Jim Valako, he has lots of "stuff" laying around. Truied Vans on Alpine yet??

UPDATE on pump--- Took it apart tonight down to the bare housing and the shaft. It is leaking green grease from around the pully end- only a little. There is no play side to side in any rotation angle. There is a slight play from end to end- maybe 1/16 inch. At this time I think that I will put it back on and run it untill it shows diffinate signs of failure. I will need a spare though. Anyone have a good one????

Is it leaking out of the front seal ,or the weep hole in the snout?

It is leaking from around the front seal.

Check the adds on this site, that would be parts, since someone had new ones for $115... They were not the style with the fuel pump mount but if that is what you need you sure can't beat the price... I will take a look and let you know if I can find them...
