edit- the final result should be interesting to view, shoot to averages / tweak to specifics re exposure, saturation and contrast. also, 90% of it is just showin up.

Lost in all the Photoshop talk is the best part of the photo—all the energy, going in all directions, at the back of the boat.

I have had the absolute privilege to look at thousands of great go-fast boat photos over the years, and now at Sportboat I get to make the final selection, and I have never seen one that captures the launch angle and energy so well.

How often do you see that, I mean really see it in the fraction of a second it takes?

It's more than "just showin' up," my friend. You have an eye.
