We Won!!!
Thanks to so many of you humble folks that wanted to stay nameless we now have something to add to the picture (that another "someone" sent me years ago) to kind of set it off a little.
Here, let me get you a closer look so you can read it.
That's right, we (and when I say "we" you all know who you are) won the St Michaels Classic Boat Show, Best Race Boat division!!
Never thought it would happen. Our first show ever at the biggest show in the area (60 miles from home for us) and to say it lightly, they love their old wood boats but we still won.
From the decals to the V-Drive, prop shaft, struts, rev rotation motor advice, history, videos we have got a lot of help over the last 2 and 1/2 years and it all came together this weekend.
From 4/5th of Resurrection Marine (me, Sarah, Jack and the head of security Abby) and the other 1/5th (Maureen our finance officer is behind the camera) we all want to say, thank you!
To cap it off, we scored a very cheap and cool old kerosene lamp. What a perfect day!

Thanks folks. I know it sounds corny but its a bit of a dream for us. We have a lot of respect for the boats that are and have been in the show. Been going to this show for the last 16 or 17 years. Not saying we haven't missed a couple due to life stepping in the way but any time there we said that we could do this. Maybe not win but at least have a boat good enough to hang out without shame. lol. But to actually do it was a totally different story. Our hats are off to the folks who do it year in and year out. It's a lot of work just getting ready. ie; We figure being it was to close to home to get a hotel room there but still being a bit of a haul from home that over the 4 days we did something like 660 miles back and forth and a 130 of that was with the trailer that has only traveled about 30 miles in the last .....30 years, lets just say even though it was a great 4 days and the trailer was totally rebuilt and should have been no worries (and it worked fine) we are happy everything is safe and in the driveway now.
And yes it was all very, very worth it. To end up with this little piece of pretty wood with a metal plate on it is nothing about the trophy for us (but we do like it and it is pretty though). Most of all receiving one says that we are doing it right with our restores. True backyard (or in our case, front yard) restorations that are able to compete in a major classic boat show. Every classic we have restored including the race boat followed the same guild lines that we have always used. Do it as right as possible, as close as possible and there is no "by the book" to be followed. Add in some late night research, hours and hours of hunting parts, etc etc and we started with a rusty trailer, a hull, boxes of parts and a single picture and with a little help from our friends that most we have never met in person, look what we did!
We can honestly say that anyone, from the forum poster of a simple "cool boat" to folks the provided things like designing and providing all the decals from that one picture for the boat for the cost of the vinyl, or all the priceless research, machine work and powder coating of the Casale C1000 and all for a return favor that has never been asked, the proper seal numbers for a reverse rotation motor, put us in touch with the best cam people, the right V-drive people and even the original builder himself and there is so many more. All of you played a part in some way to bring this boat back to life. Just like all the others we do and we are sure many more in the future again thank you.
