Hello,
First post. I never knew their were a some affordable offshore boats. I have been amazed by some of the deals out there.
History
I had an 84 bayliner w/ a 4cylinder. It went 37 mph (speedo) but is was too slow. I wanted to get a fast boat, so I bought a really nice IMP 1979 X-250 sport, 25 ft with twin 260 mercruisers. It is somewhat modified ( the lumpy cam idle). I took it out first time and it goes 56 by GPS. I thought it was awesome.
Now I want a bigger boat (`30 ft ish )with twin big blocks. It would be nice to take it to san luis resvior, delta, or even the Bay (California). So far I have found a 1981 Formula 302 LS that looks good.
Thanks!
Is there other VALUE boats like this? Is so what models? I am planning 8- 12k. I am an Engineer and can fix and fabricate. I do not want to do structual work as I would rather buy a solid boat, mechanical is fine.
