what a joke .with todays lawyers if the guy had drowned their would have been a law suit .a no win situation but at least the guy did what he thought was right. more people should be like that

If I win the lottery I will hire that guy 100K a year to be my lifeguard, I hope with todays social media/networking this story gets enough publicity to put pressure on the "upstanding citizen" who fired him. You see NOTHING but bad news in the papers/news today, Nice to see someone who "does the right thing", but, it sucks he was fired for it

New article on Yahoo news reads "Heroic lifeguard is offered his job back"
I would past a link but can't get it to open for some reason. I would hope they offer him a nice raise along with the job offer cause you know many other people would be glad to hire this young man.

Saw the kid on Al Sharpton today. He said he was offered his job back but he declined, citing university as the reason why.

Kid is a hero for going against "rules" to save a life. Doing his job.
