i am goign to say around 140 mph.
try the speed calculator on g-fast.com i am guestimating 4500lbs for eth boat 1100hp total and 6%-4% slip. That is of course assuming the COG and X dims aren't totalled f-ed up. i think that boat might be a handful to drive. be careful. |

puder I know that formula but sometimes reality is a bit different ...I just wanted to hear the discussion or experiences;cause we do not have any 28 cat with twin inboard engines,I mean you can be very fast on papers but under the water in reality... :) :) :) |

112 gps. hopefully you will get more

No way is it going to run 140 mph. I say 115 mph. A 30' Spectre with twin 500HP will run 105-110. You need a lot longer boat and more ponies to safely run tall numbers like that. Do not compare the power to weight ratios of O/B and I/O for top end speed. Have you considered that you will have a lot weight in the rear of the boat which will make it porpoise insanely at around 75mph. Good luck and be careful.

Wow, talk about blazing a new trail. What an interesting project! major work. How many pounds need to go in the sponsons to offset the engine weight? Can we say CG? What CG! I only hope they run it in flat calm water and post the speed numbers before trying to run in anything rough. Very ambitious.

If they get it balanced, it will run about 112mph.
Just my thought. |
