I still like the site, sure not what it was, way to PC now vs. when Steve owned and ran it, I like some good sarcasm and poking fun more than most but now it will get poofed if somebody's feelings get hurt, get over it. I was always a paid member till the last time. Right now I am boat less so just kinda poke around when I buy again I will more than likely pay again for the deals on stuff you get but IB has enough money, plus they whore out the site with ads we don't need or want. Plus to lazy to look for a better site. You still get info from here you can't get any place else.

I pay a bit more and did not hesitate to go another year not only for the business I gain but the vast knowledge on this board.

I was a paying member... I swear it was cheaper when Steve owned it and it came with a Shirt. (I can always use another boatin' shirt)

Now to get a shirt you pony up 75 bucks (it ads up to a 30 dollar shirt BTW, The same shirt that is $26 in the OSO store). You also get "exclusive givaways" but I haven't won shiat in my life.

If it was all that and no ads I'd pony up. But the difference between paying and non paying isn't worth it when there are eleventy million ads on this site.

It also kinda blows my mind that you can get a nice, high quality, T shirt from Cigarette, Donzi, Fountain, Baja, Formula for 20 bucks.

There is plenty of dough to be made if things were priced right.

OSO should consider themselves lucky to have the members they do (the paying ones are just a bonus). Without them they have a bunch of empty webspace. Sorry buts that's just how it is.
ie; iboats don't have paying members, the store picks up the complete tab for the whole thing and they have a lot of knowledgeable talkative folks. Just a different crowd that's over here but they do the same thing. Along the way it made a little catalog store into a giant so don't think OSO is hurting.
