I had never seen these. One I was writing about was platic and looked like a flash light with drain plug treads on one end. This one deff looks like it's worth of 50.00

Guys that have these what do you do when you trailer you boats do you have to run the wire all the way to the battery every time?

I just bought one for a boat that's on a lift all the time. It's brass and works great. It has clips that are attached to battery when you want to turn the lights on, very simple.

I assume you mean so you can leave the plug out, I added bullet connectors to mine, so I can change colors.

That's my favorite part! Can't forget the plug! I just leave it hang on the wire. Piece of cake.

My Eliminator has three drain plugs. I would think that would be pretty bright. I might get a few.

The one I rigged was permanently wired in. Also had a switch in the dash to turn it on. The guy that owns the boat removes it when he gets home from the lake and lets it hang while its sitting so it can drain. He leaves it in while towing.
