My NorTech did 92.7 on a good day, 100 gallons of fuel and 3 of us on the boat..and did 90 all day long once I stretched it out with 5 people and full of fuel. No one has never questioned that. Most of the time I cruised at 3700-3750 rpms or 60mph. Top end really is not that important once you hit it a few times, just my take on it. This boat looks good, has great offshore old school lines, and I believe it will perform the same as my 43 NT once dialed in. Congrats to CheckMate for seeing this through.

That Blue 43V was easily my favorite 43 ever built! The Bentley blue and the cross stitched interior was absolutely a timeless classic. I only saw it once at the Jacksonville PR and it still sticks in my mind as the perfect 43V build.

Just brand snobbery. If it said Cig or Apache on the side every post would be good job. Nice to have a refresh after 50 years and less than a million bucks.

Does it have a nice chitter?

I thought this was a one-off build by Checkmate for one individual. Not a new production boat. It does take time and more money to get the setup right. Carry on.

499K MSRP as per Matt's article:

Within the same three-month period this year, Checkmate Marine introduced its 26 Convincor and 43 Punisher V-bottom sportboats. By any measure, pardon the pun, that presents a significant disparity in the Bucyrus, Ohio, builder’s line of affordable semi-custom sportboats from 18 to 30 feet. With the 90-plus-mph, 43-footer ringing in at a retail price of $499,000 and the 70-mph, 26-footer being offered at a base price for $88,000, the two new models couldn’t be at more differing ends of the performance and pricing spectrums.

I know builders like the Merc warranty and all, but I think a pair of Ron Potter 800s would have been a better choice. Naturally aspirated, cheaper and faster in the bargain. I bet he even offers a warranty as well.

This boat is totally out of my league even at 1/2 the price(499,000). I love it and maybe some day could buy a used one?

Having never shopped for a boat like this, I'm curious if the price on it is where it needs to be. Anyone out there think this is a great price for a 41' twin 700 merc off-shore? Is this boat going to make some other brands look overpriced?

What is the starting point for 40-43 footers from the other brands that this boat is up against?

For 500,000$ for a boat that runs 85...there is ALLOT out there at this price point. Good luck, but less than stellar numbers....
