the alarm i used is a python with "smart start" feature. obviously i dont use the start from cell phone feature, but it send text messages which is why i bought it.

I live very close to my marina. numerous reasons why i don't keep the boat at home. 1. takes up too much room, 2. doesn't fit past my gate, 3. city doesn't allow RV storage, the list goes on and on...

A normal deer trail camera would just get stolen as soon as it goes off.. at least if I was a thief I wouldn't leave a picture of me breaking into something but use a Moultrie M80 which uses "black flash" where the little scum bags won't know they are on candid camera!!

Some good ideas and I wouldn't leave anything in the boat any more. Carrying a gym bag back and forth would be a lot cheaper then replacing stuff.

That's what I did, pretty much didn't leave anything on the boat. I even rigged my GPS to be removed quickly with velcro tabs holding it in the mount. Pull it out, uncouple the connector and gone!

Had a silent alarm on a car years ago - worked perfectly, BUSTED
Only thing bad was the false alarms due to storms and wind.
Alarm went off one night - came half awake - no wind, no storm, looked out window to see shadows next to the car. Woke the then wife and told her to call the cops, I went out the front door with a gun.
Both went to jail. one was on parole.

Now that's the kind of feel-good story I enjoy.
