I could post all day on this subject because I have seen so many, both as a seller and buyer. My favorite is when they say the boat (or other vehicle) is at a secure shipping center ready to be shipped. First of all, shipping centers are not storage units until your vehicle ships, so I usually say I'll be in town and can just pick it up. They come up with 100 excuses then finally quit responding when you wear them down.

Lots of times that paypal link they provide is fake and now you`ve given them all your information.
