Hi All,
A few weeks ago we placed an order with Outerlimits for a new SV29 that we will keep somewhere in Florida, so that we have a boat for vacations. As some of you will have read on other threads i am normally fairly hands on with my boat building and fitting out. As we live in England most of the time about the only hands on i am going to get in this build is re-profiling and blue printing the indy lower unit which Ilmor has kindly shipped to England for me so that i can carry out the modifications.
Here are some photographs of the partially completed casting.

Thankyou all for your encouragement....
coolerman,
The profile of the trailing edge is to try and reduce turbulence to the prop and also drag, it certainly works on lower speed drives, the lower unit is totally symmetrical as the boat will be getting my fly-by-wire steering system next year which is totally un affected by prop torque.
mcprodesign,
Yes you are spot on about the body man i served my apprenticeship making tools and dies then moved on to plug and mould making for GRP parts, got in to hydraulics by accident. I now use virtually all the skills acquired over the years.
Killer Hair......
i have never had Jimmy Page before..... normally it is Rod Stewart or Noddy Holder..... i can never get it cut because i store all my information there!!! it's quite fun being mistaken for some kind of rock star and i do sometimes play along.
All The Best

I would usually do before and after comparisons but logistically as we are in England and i needed the bare castings to check wall thicknesses before i did the reprofiling this just wouldn't work for me, but if i've got it wrong i'm pretty handy with a welder
