Hi,
Thats the common way to do it on single outboard boats running jackplates. Merc even has a lower unit called Torquemaster with a built in torque tamer.
Cheers Toffen

Anyone else "blueprint" lowers themselves, and how did it work? Obviously WCM does a great job.
Also can anyone elaborate on sanding the bottom of the hull? My hull is already blueprinted but curious about sanding for speed.

Has this "golf ball" like film been released?

Honestly, I'm trying to understand why Mercury Racing wouldn't blueprint from the factory given the clear performance gains. It's not like this process couldn't be automated and included on these costly packages.
I purchased new 700/6 drive's in 2011 and would have gladly paid a few extra $. If they can get $2,500 out of changing the engine color (and they do) think of the margin in blueprinting.....

I have brovo x drives for now in the mitts of motor work so new lowers arnt in the game plan. but i do have to sand and paint the drives to clean them up the boat sat in the water last year with buying the new boat a lift was not going to happen so thay need to be repanted. would it be worth it to take the lowers all the way down and leave um? i do like that look better.
