Blew my exhaust flapper off
Guess the stock plastic flappers are not going to cut it with this 572 motor. I have angle tips - 2 flappers in each tip. Looks like the SS rivets on the bottom of the tips need to be drilled out in order to get new flappers in there.
I understand there are metal flappers, but how "clanky" are they? Any other options (e.g. plastic coated SS)? Do not feel good running w/o any flappers.

Kook,
Lost 2 of mine and I just replaced them with non burn flappers from Eddie Marine. They flutter a little bit but not too bad. They are stainless but have a hard rubber coating around the edges. I don't know how long that's going to last but I know they will make more noise if they burn off. They cost $25.00 each. I had to weld up the old flapper holes and drill new ones and tack weld them in, not a big deal. Definitely don't run without them.
