Default 42 fountain questions

hello , my 45 excalibur got wrecked in hurricane sandy

Im looking at a 42 fountain lightning and I have 3 questions

1 - how fast will it be with 500hp's

2 - it only has a porta potty and I want to convert it to a flushing toilet with a pump out , is it doable/feaseable

3 - it doesnt have a generator , would it be difficult to add it ?

thanks in advance

.

The best deal on a 42 is right here. Owner is crazy meticulous.

How fast depends on the year of the Hull. With 500's, maybe mid-upper 70's

Adding a flush toilet and generator can be done. Depends on what you consider hard work.

Its a great hull and from experience with my friends boat runs 70-75 stock. With gen upgrade etc, Mild Thunder can def give you great hands on advice, he is the man!

An option for your 2nd question - They make a pump-out porta potty with electric flush now. It mounts right where your current potty is and has a hose that mounts to a thru-hull fitting for the pump-out. The holding tank holds 5.5 gallons of waste. They actually look pretty cool and it would be much easier than installing a true pump-out system. Just an option.

Porta Potti 465 MSD - Portable Marine Toilet
Designed to Make Dockside Pumpout a Breeze

This durable toilet is sanitary, odorless and leakproof. Plus, high-gloss finish is easy to clean!
• Electric pump quickly and easily flushes fresh water to clean bowl

• Sealed valve keeps odor in holding tank

• Built-in deodorant storage (bottle included)

• Hold down kit secures toilet to deck

• Easy-to-read Level Indicator tells when its time to empty

• Capacities: Fresh Water: 4.0 gal: 15 L
Waste Tank: 5.5 gal: 21L
