Default Planning on getting Stainless Marine exhaust

Hi everyone,

planning on going with Stainless Marine exhaust and long risers, and i have a question, based on the pic, do i need to change the thermostat housing to do this switch? since there are 2 hoses coming out of the Tstat going to the risers now and SM's are set up differently with a little hose connecting the manifold to ss riser.Hope someone can answer this since i will go see Jerry ( SM) on monday.

thanks .

I had the same type housing on mine. The SM manifolds have 2 inlets and that connector hose fitting to the elbow. I put a fitting in each inlet and ran 2 hoses to each manifold, works great.

Ok , so I don't have to change the T-housing? That would be good.

Right, you need two 90 degree fittings on the manifolds for the hoses.

I went by SM today, and Jerry hook me up, got the BB manifolds, I will have them installed after new year's .Then, will have them measure the height and

Would I be able to gain any mph just by doing this upgrade? Should I adjust the carbs after install? Any other adjustment?

I am going to check top speed before and after installation, any predictions?again i have pretty much stock bottom end 330's , 781 heads and weiand stealth intake with hp500 carbs.

Hey James,

I know ,I saw your risers ,great price, but the thing is that I had paid for the 2 sets of small blocks and long risers ,now I am just switching to BB manifolds risers will be the same that I had already paid. I am staying with the BB's eventhough the sbc's I built came out nice 400hp @ 5200 rpm and 459lbs/ft of torque at 3000 rpm.

Hope you are doing good.
