Default The future

Im in the process of completing my senior project we are mapping out our futures. I plan on attending the landing school in the fall and learning marine systems and fiber glassing and hope some day to have my own performance boat company so i guess my questions are has any one ever worked in a boat factory what did you do there and do you think there is room in the future for another boat company

Thanks for any info

I believe there is always room for competition. Of course some markets are easier than others and performance boating is a very niche market due to the extreme costs and small amount of people that can justify it. There is always someone/ something better. That being said, even as nice as top of the line manufacturers like Cigarette, Outerlimits, Nor Tech, Donzi, MTI, etc etc are, they can always be improved on. The key is to have a competitive advantage to draw customers to your product rather than the competitions. That isn't easy to do in the beginning because your product hasn't proved itself or made a name for itself...yet. Develop a good business plan (obviously this will take some thought and time), start small, and don't fall prey to growing too quickly. You have a dream, go for it and don't let anyone get in your way

Honestly, I wasn't sure exactly what the landing school was as i had never heard of it but a quick google search fixed that. The second link that popped up might be worth reading before you write any tuition checks...
