The new Hummer H2...

The new Hummer H2...
Has anyone seen this thing yet? It looks as though it stands 8 feet off the ground at the back end!! It is intense, and price is not too bad. I like the looks, but I want a P/U truck, and not an SUV again. The two local dealers said they have already sold over 100 of them, and they are backordered in DC until September.

I've seen one on my way to work for 2 weeks now. It looks awesome! Much better than the original - I'd be curious to get a look on the inside and see what they've done.

Don't confuse the Hummer H2 with the AM General HMMWV, (HummVee).
They're not the same, not even close.
The H2 uses a completetly different chassis, driveline and suspension. It's closer to the current GM 4X4 truck suspension.
The only similarity is in looks.
If you want the "real" thing go to AM General.

I saw one driving near O'hare this week, black, looked sweet if you go for those type looks- of course I cracked up laughing at this manly image truck with it dinky 1/2 ton axle in the back.
It's not half the truck that the image projects it to be. A lot of coin for a boxy tahoe.

I was real excited about maybe getting a new H2 when we heard about them. Its one of the only SUV's that my wife and I actually agreed on! I thought this thing is cool. Then I drove one. Like someone said, its actully more like a Tahoe with flat panels. It does drive good, draws attention, has good ground clearance, but it gets ONLY 9-10 mpg on the hiway!!! And all this for only 50 grand. Don't get me wrong, it's cool but its no REAL Hummer. I think If I was going to buy one I would wait till demands falls off and then pick one up cheaper instead of paying a premium price. Just my 2 cents
