Default Found another 29 Fountain

As the title says, I've located another 1990 27/29 Fever Twin close by.
Spoke to the owner today.
It has Mark IV 454's (orig 365hp), Merlin rectangle port heads, matching Merlin intake, full roller valve train, Imco exh, MSD ign and a 750 DP. Eng is reported to be able to support a 900 CFM, but the 750 was used to keep things things on the conservative side. Engines currently have 40 hrs on them. Owner est HP at ~500 as it sits.
Claims it will GPS 82-83 any day and upper 80's in the salt.

I normally shy away from highly modified marine engs, but sounds like this guy knows the right people and didn't skimp on the hard parts.

I'll be checking it out next week.
What questions should I be asking in regards to the engs?
Does the HP est sound abt right for the top speed?

What all is included with a "Mark IV"?
4-bolt main, forged crank, what else??
Anything special abt the rods and pistons?

Thx,
John

Thx for the reply GT Bill!
What year 29?
Was that with a stepped hull?
I'm thinking the stepped hull came out after twin BB's were discontinued.

Nope I looked at a couple twin BBC stepped hull 29's.

If the motors are 500 HP sounds right on speed I get 82-83 from my 32 with twin HP500EFI's

I had a 1990 27/29 with 454 mags. The 365's have all forged internals. Mine would only run 73gps, but found the hull was hooked near the transom. Probably caused by the boat not setting on the rear trailer bunks completly. Really enjoyed the boat and never one issue, The mk iv is the time frame for the engine block design. Next was gen 5, gen 6, etc
Run it before you buy it and have it surveyed.
