My boat has a step hull and a notched transom. I have been told by a number of people that a transom pickup will not work because of the aeration caused by the step. With the transom being notched there is not a lot of room back there for a standard installation of a pickup also. It would have to be a custom made piece. I am going to add a strainer and if I catch the problem as quick as I did this time I will be able to clean it out and get back under way.
