Here is one with some of the best paint I have seen for sale to sorta compare. This one has a ton of money in the engines though and runs FAST.

IMHO tough to sell triples and I would think listing it in the mid 100's and expecting offers in the low 100's

No paint & triples are a deal killer for most people......

You'd be lucky to consummate a deal in the 145k - 165k range.

I agree. One thing to keep in mind is many Fountain shoppers believe 2007 is the year that the interior design changed. If that is a deal break your boat wouldn't even show up in their search. When you list I would bring attention to the fact that it has the new style interior in the listing header. Does it have the newer style cabin as well?

For comparison a much more desirable 2007 1075sci #6 47 Fountain with near identical paint was listed on this site for $225,000 asking just a few months ago. I agree that real world value of your boat is $150k ish

The triple engine 47's are a boat that many people have trouble pricing. They are signifigantly more expensive than a twin engine 42 when new. The resale is much tougher on the 47 though. I find that all other things equal, a twin engine 42 and a triple engine 47 of the same year usually sell for similar money. Maybe a little more for a 42. But the 42 also sells faster. My rule of thumb is price the 42, which is easy, and knock 10% off for the 47. That is the reality I have seen. If you price a 47 like that, it will sell.

Good theory. The worst part about a 3X 525 47 is the triple set of headers and the potential for 3 drives. 3X headers would be a hard hit. The only glitch in the pricing theory would be comparing a 42 Executioner which are usually much cheaper than a 42 Lightning.

The only 47/trip 525 I can think of was that 04 in Florida that was really tired was on ebay for 129K and some OSO'rs were interested/looked at it in person. It had a hurricane swirl paint theme with an arch.

You are correct. I mean 47 Lightning vs. 42 Lightning.

well, well... truth hurts I guess!

But I have to agree, a triple is probably worth less than a twin, even smaller twin... I know my customer will ask me to list in the 189 area... I guess we'll see how it goes with offers!

Its funny how the EXPERTS on this site chime in on how, this boat, or that boat, or even something they noticed on ebay, is only worth peanuts. But if you would talk to them about there boat... Its worth a ton.... and most of the time they have something smaller, older, and really worth way less. Anyway, good luck with selling it.

You're about a year late with your response
