The XS-650's are available with the silver open grill, and a black or white saltwater version. The tweeter is mounted on the grill, so the grill must be used. The woofer cone is solid and there's not a pole for the tweeter protruding through it, midbass on these is awesome.

The XS-808's are available in all 3 options, but the tweeter is removeable (convertible, as they call it), so it can be mounted in a different location.

The XS-10FA comes with the silver grill, but using other grills are an option. Not required to use their grill with this sub.

The XS12 and 12" XXX don't come with a grill.

unfortunately boating in salt water means everything has to get washed after, I guess in a lake you can get away with equipment that isn't waterproof. Hell the boat gets a layer of salt just being near the water when it is windy.

After hearing my Buddy's boat with JL Audio i decided the same for me.

I installed 1 JL 900/5 MHD amp pushing 2 JL M10IB5 10" subs and 2 sets of 7.7" M770 with sport grilles. In addition, i have a set of 6.5" M650 being pushed by a M400/4 (bridged). I have a Carion m502 head unit and playing from my iPhone via Bluetooth. This system is LOUD and CLEAN!

I just pulled 2 Infinity amps out of a 38' Renegade CC that came from around Miami today. They were tucked under the helm, and covered in rust. The head unit, RCA's, amps, and all speakers had to be replaced. All metal parts were corroded. Salt water takes its toll on electronics.

In my 230 I have 4 Infinity 6x9's and 2 10" clarion subs. Run by 2 Clarion 480's. It was a few years ago and this got me started with the thought I would upgrade in the future.

I have just under a grand in it with the Clarion HU. Surprisingly I've had a lot of complements on the sound. So when it is time to upgrade (after something takes a dump) I'll go from there.
I agree about the 6x9's kinda going away, luckily I didn't cut holes for these!
