LOTO is 4 hrs, Havasu is 20 hrs for me.
After 2 weeks of Vegas and Havasu I had my fill initially but time heals.
Loved blistering my feet on Vinyl in April,
Street Party,
desert scenery,
skin and bikinis,
Channel was like LOTO party cove gauntlet without the lines undulating BUT with on coming traffic!
Running fast in shallow water I could see the bottom and telling my self to keep it on plane
All out speed for the Poker Run
West Coast "me" attitude got old
Lack of speed runs and people that had no clue how to raft up boats
LOTO - endless variety of boating establishments from big commercial party joints, back water hole in the walls, family friendly, xxx rated, nature, scenic
Shootout with miles of boats rafted off
two days of runs feels more like NHRA drags than Havi Friday night races
Huge rumble of poker run participants grouped together (60mph) feels like watching a long string of Harley's go by.
So many on-water lodging options for every taste and pocket book from tent camping to 8 bedroom private mansion with multi well dock
Leaving the ShootOut is rough water that can be both fun and adrenaline rush
Street party is still in flux and maturing
Midwest women (very generalized) - not as much eye candy but more fun to talk to and lower maintenance.
As most above have said, two incredibly unique experiences that should be on every one's bucket list.
I have Chicago - Great Lakes, and the Chain as well as Keys and Miami and many more still to go......

I've been to DS three times and now live on Lake of the Ozarks. Been coming to the lake since 1994 and moved three years ago "full time" DS is a different type of boating. It's a 21 hour haul with the boat for us, I hope I can make it every year.
I've also boated a few lakes in Texas, Cumberland and three times down in Florida. Bang for the buck Havi and LOTO are hard to beat.
