haha, I just went through this, buy a new speedo if you have the old connector and be done with it....or if you don't have the connector and your speedo is eligible, send it to them to upgrade it...

I bought a new speedo from a member and figured my old antenna wasn't going to work. I heard that they would sell you the new style at a discounted rate. I emailed them and they said 282.00 for the antenna. They have the antenna kit with the 180 mph speedo for 199.00! I asked about the difference in price and got " yes that is correct, cheers". Sounds like a little FU to me. I know that the garmin is 12v and works off the same signal. I may just try it and let everyone know what the outcome was.

if you can figure out the wiring and if the spedo is providing the power or not any gps antenna should work with it, that isn't set up for a NMEA 2000 connnection. Should just be one of the wires that is taking the signal from the gps antenna.
Something like this for the Nordskog Digital GPS speedo I had in the eliminator:
Black......Ground
Red........To a switched +12 volt source
Purple.....Lighting the gauge face, hook to running lights
Connect the green wire to to one terminal of supplied toggle switch, connect the other terminal to ground, this is to change modes.
Gray........is used for the intergrated tach, connect to the -neg. side of coil
White......is for hook up to GPS signal source other than that supplied by Nordskog
