Can I have a ride in your boat? What do you say?
Saturday I went to visit a friend that was camping at the lake. He had his boat anchored out in the water infront of his campsite. While we were sitting & talking a guy comes walking up out the lake, he had 3 teeth, hat on sideways, torn shirt, shorts, & unlaced hiking boots (remember he just walled out of the lake & was soaking wet). The guy walks up to us & asks my friend if the boat was his & thought it was a good looking boat, Friend said yes it was his boat & thanked him. Then the guy asks "When are you going to take me for a ride?" Friend told him as polite as he could that he would not be taking him for a ride.
Later we were talking about what to say when a stranger asks for a ride.
Idea that came up were:
"After I get a ride in your boat."
"My lawyer makes me get signed releases before I take anyone out & I forgot to bring them with me."
Now what would/do you say??

or gas nobody rides for free
Seriously when a guy asks me for a ride I am more than happy if I am actually taking the boat for a spin but when you have to get your boat unrafted frome 50 others and spend 30 min. just to get out of the marina. hell no! I dont think that people realize the hasstle and actual cost involved to just jump in and take them for a quick spin

I hope that does not happen to me. I try and avoid hanging out in places that people who do not know me would ask that. I often times hang out at Biggus's house and you would be amazed at the broken record of people going bye. How much, how fast, want to race, whats it got for power. I was going to make up a sign for him so that everyone going by would be able to read it
HOT CHICKS Always get to go for a ride as long as the boat runs

one time I took what I was told a prospective buyer.
This was 2 yeras ago Kinda lost interest in selling
He showed up after the in the water show at Treasure Island. Boat was already on the trailer, covered and tied down.
He was so serious about a ride. Not to mentin the tanks were low due to high runs at the end , at least what i thought the end of the show.
Well needless to say after talking iwth him for about 30-45 minutes to see how serious he really was we put in. I went up to the gas dock and he actually put in 20 bucks. Well, at least he did in one side. I had to put in the other 20 for the other side to balance out. He really did not like that at all since he said he was getting the gas for my troubles of putting hte boat back in. And i thought that was great of him even when I said no to it. But since he only had a 20 and did not know about twin tanks I was perfectly fine with my 20.
Well we headed up river and I showed him all I could. We were out for a good 45-1 hour. While he was driving back he decided to turn around and head up river again. We both felt comfortable for a high speed run. Well to end htis he would not listen to me about tuning around and heading back to the Casino. I finally reached over and took control once he came off plane. He was actually pissed me off because he would not listen to me after a couple minutes.
Needless t osay before we got to hte bend in the river we ran out of gas. Each tank feeds each motor.
Tried my damdest to steer on one outside motor. Down river, having to make a 35 degree turn back up the channel. Well, I missed the red marker only by a boat width. Marker was on the wrong side. Clunk Friggin drives clipped the rock damn. we were only at idle so only 3 chunks of the skeg was removed
Nothing to hte hull thank god. Well I made back to the gas dock adn then to the trailer.
Once back to the marina he took off like a bat out of hell.
Would not return any phone calls. I mad it quite clear I was not blaming him for running out of gas but due to the fact of getting the turn on the rught side of the marker.
So No, Unless I know you the answer is no!
But like others have stated, depends on what she looks like.
But then again, even then it can still be a no if its not worth it
