It is a great pleasure to see new technology in SV ( OR SVL) continue to evolve and advance the sport of offshore racing. Many of the vintage SVL boats have been drifting toward more club style events.

We will look forward to seeing it on the liquid race track competing with SBI this summer-fall. Congrats to the new owners,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hey Doc!

Competition is good. New boats are good. New blood is good.

All good.

I agree this injection of new boats, advanced technology and enthusiasm is perfect for the offshore sport.

Many boats have changed owners recently, and over the past few years the majority of the vintage boats continue to be very competitive.

This season may, be "the turning point" for advanced technology in the SV ( aka SVL) and be an exciting time for all the racing teams in the peak the season.

You are 100% correct, If I recall correctly, the Fountain SVL , had an impressive record of: 3rd Place 1
2nd Place 2
First Place 15+

The new owners of next one will have a great ride,,,,,,,,,,,,

given Walker's history with investors money at Fountain I thought 'watch your back' was his business plan rather than a boat name.

I think you're misreading or misinterpreting his quote. Here it is:

"We hadn’t heard from the racing side in awhile—I think the last one we built was for “Doc” Janssen (Dr. Michael Jansen, owner of the Watch Your Back 30-footer that competed in the SVL class) back in 2009."

When he says "last one" my understanding was he meant "last race boat," based on the what he said in the beginning of the quote, "We hadn't heard from the racing side in awhile ..."

If I'm not mistaken, Watch Your Back was the last raceboat built by Fountain as a Fountain (meaning not a Panther for P1.)

Not trying to argue with, just trying to clarify. Hope this helps.
