I posted this on some other boards too but I thought it might be of interest here, specially with all you East Siders.
We've been involved in the restoration of this old girl for a few years now and she's almost done. She is being painstakingly restored, the woodwork and finish quality inside is like nothing you've ever seen. Luckily she is owned by someone with vast means and endless patience. I'm sorry to see the old Daimler two strokes go, they ran just fine but where loud as hell and smoked quite a bit. The new CATs are in now, produce about 4 times the HP and weigh a fraction of the Daimlers. We put many tons in the keel so she would balance. She should float in the next month.

If this is the boat I think it is, it was docked in Corpus Christi Tx for yrs during the 70s and 80s. Only saw it move a couple of times during my childhood. Would you know if this is the same boat? We always heard it was Capone's

Great to see that someone has restore a piece of history, the boat owned by Al Capone so that many will be able to view it. Glad they didn't destroy it.
