That is why we picked CC because the Airport at Fort Meyers is nearby and has regular flights for business travel without all the traffic issues like Tampa. It looks like it will work for us..

Boat doesn't like going slower. Nice cruise anyway. The miserable is miserable but I don't mind it. There's plenty of times I go out and don't leave the river. Sw cape does have the lock and that's not for me. I have no bridges or locks between me and river. Healthcare you will find jobs. It's all up to you. Definitely visit before moving.
You know the Miserable Mile is not the slow speed zone by Shell Point?
The actual Miserable Mile is the narrow channel of the I.C.W. that runs between the spoil islands out towards Picnic island.
But since a lot of people think the slow zone is it we might as well go with it.
Oh BTW if you're a boater the Cape is a great place to be.

How are the schools down there? And how is the economy doing there? Car lots selling cars? Would a new business be able to thrive or die in current times? Are the houses selling at a decent rate, or still lots repos/forclosures and the Chinese drywall issues?

We don't have the blue water of Sarasota but none the less the boating is great most any day. SE Fl has more action but unlike the east coast we have plenty of protected water even when the gulf is rough.

If you want any kind of short idle time to get on plane you need to be east of Del Prado and or south of Cape Coral Parkway. However it's unlikely you'll find anything now under the mid 300's unless it's a near tear down.

Little closer to 300K now. here's one that's close to the open water, has a pool....but is a little dated. Still not too bad for the $$$.

That same house in Ft Lauderdale would be 799K, in Pompano Beach 600K and in Jupiter/Tequesta 695K!
