Default Need insurance Help

I am looking to buy a 1980 38 foot wellcraft scarab. I am not having very good luck trying to find someone who will insure this boat. Here are the people I tried and their responses.

Blackadar No because of the age of the boat.
National Underwriters they want $1904 /year
West Marine No because of the speed.
Boat US No because of the speed.
American Underwriters They want $1557/year.
Total Dollar No because of the age of the boat.

I called my insurance company (Safeco)for my autos and they want $1873/year.
I am a 32 year old single male with an inproper turn ticket from 3 years ago. I have 15 years boating experience on the Great Lakes ( lake St Clair). I was trying to insure the boat for $50,000 and $100,000 - $300,000 liability. Is there anyone that can put me in touch with an insurance company that wont want to kill me on premiums.

Go to the OSO links page and find PMA, that is who most high performance people in South Florida use.

The big problem I am having is finding an insurance company that will insure a 22 year old boat.
