I believe that Target Powerboats was owned by Laurent Lemay of Quebec and died in a boating accident. There was something posted on OSO back around 2008. Sad story. RIP Laurent Lemay.

Read a little bit. Sad.
So did target actually get permission from Peter to splash or....?
Also, just because the boat rolled doesn't necessarily mean it was structurally flawed. Every cat company I can think of has had a roll or flip at some point. Tragic ending though.

I knew very little Laurent.he lived an hour or so from me. in fact he died at fall and was only recovered in spring. can't say if this one rolled or not, but I know many target were built so I doubt this is the one. only heard great comments about the ride and handling of these boats! My guess is you can't go wrong !

Peter, has in fact, given permission or come to a financial agreement with manufacturers in the past on "splashing" his hulls, whether the deal was done via asking permission or begging forgiveness after being caught...the deal with Nordic Boats is one example. Since this target boat was being listed as a "skater", I was just curious if there was ever a deal.
