I'm partial to the DirtyMax, but then I own first boat with one installed..

Here is a company offering a marinized 6.6L 500hp version of the GM / Isuzu crate motor.

Speaking with a rep, they are conservative on the power tuning and targeted to the commercial and military markets. When I finally got a price out of him, I understood why..

After logging 200+ hours on a Duramax making 650hp in a performance boat, I can say the later model "06 and up" factory truck units should hold up fine at 500-600hp in a boat. Stock wrist pin bushings are a bit weak IMO, but keep the R's down and they should last 1000 hours before needing replaced.

My good friend has built one of these 6.6L to over 1100 hp. His diesel dragster is running low 7 second quarters, turns 6000 rpms, and usually stays together for couple weekends. That said, his motor might last me about 30 minutes in a boat. Apples to Oranges comparison when your talking boats to drag racing.

i think the cummins is a much more durable engine than the dmax will ever be.,.. what is the point of running a diesel you have to rebuild ever 1000 hours?

im just not a cat guy, and never will be. i have always wanted an apache 41...rm

I do not see a problem running 90 in the 41 Pantera with Cummins/Arneson combination .

If you find a hull I have a pair of 300hp 6bta's with single speed twin disc gears out of the super Hawaii I am looking to get off of.
