You simply can't win... It's either "I got beat by a pontoon boat" OR "I just beat a pontoon boat".

I cannot tell a lie. Not only did I get passed by a Pontoon, but he roosted me as well.

A couple years back I was cruising on Smith Mountain Lake in SW Virginia, around 45-50 mph. My buddy Tim in his tri-toon with twin 2.5L ROS shot out of a cove from behind me and I didn't know he was there until he was passing me. Just to add insult, he pulled in front of me and "jetovated" the bow as he sped off at 70+ plus.

A couple months later, I was in DC at a business meeting, and boating on SML came up. I had the whole story repeated to me from a spectator point of view, unbeknownst to the story teller that I was the one driving the go-fast in his story.

I'll be more impressed with them running 100 + MPH at the Shootout the first time they do it with someone grilling a burger during the run.

How do the hot dogs stay on the grill?

Are they racing toons on a regular course yet?
I think that would be awesome to see about 20 of them out there going at it.

Great, now Tres is going to have to add a pontoon boat class.

Lesson 7: How to trim your 'toon for a sweeper vs. a hairpin.
