Considering they have to get props, sail back and trailer for miles, can they make it before LOTO ends this Sunday? That would be another record!

Congrats!

We tracked down another set from Precision Werx and they sent them to us. They are stainless steel. They departed this morning with the stainless set in the water, the steel prop that was still "good" (Tyson did some welding to hold it together before they left) and one borrowed Hering prop. They broke one stainless PW prop around 60 miles out and put the Hering on. Then the second stop they broke the other PW prop and put on the steel welded prop.

So basically their chances were very slim.... He said they kept doing all the math to find out just how fast they had to go to save the props and make it to beat the record.
Hope to read about the prop resolution here on OSO. I'm sure these guy's will figure out the best course of action.

Any updates today on props or whether or not they'll make it to the Shootout?

Congrats!
I can think of worse places to be stuck if they are waiting on props!

A set of Gen 6 car Inconel headers w/ collectors is sub 16lbs, which is 4lbs lighter than the same set built out of SS. In addition to the weight savings Inconel is less brittle at high temps even when using thinner wall tubing than Stainless.

Not sure that the increased compliance would apply to a set of props since they don't operate in the heat range engine headers do but then again I'm no engineer.

Congratulations Tyson & Chris! As said previously, I can't imagine the amount of planning it takes to tackle that type of challenge! See you at LOTO!
